You can create a simple sliced image that downloads in pieces in a browser, which may be faster than downloading the original image as a single image.
If you have sliced an image, but you do not intend to assign a URL to it or create a rollover from it, you can bypass most of the options in the Object inspector.
To set object properties for a simple sliced image:
1 | Open the Object inspector. |
2 | Choose Image from the Type pop-up menu. |
3 | Choose No URL (no HREF) from the Link pop-up menu. |
4 | Ignore the Alt and Target options. |
5 | Choose a naming convention. See Naming slices. |
6 | Choose export settings in the Optimize panel and Color Table panel. See Optimizing in the workspace. |
